Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the premier ICT solutions provider in the country bagged two of the most prized accolades at the Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Awards 2014 held at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel Colombo yesterday. SLT was recognized as one of the Top Ten Corporate Citizens for 2014 and also received the Sector Award for the Best Performance in the Non-financial Services Sector. Mr. Lalith De Silva, the Group CEO of SLT, Mr. S.K. Lal Ranjith, the Chief Corporate Officer of SLT and Mr. Roshan Fernando, GM / Corporate Relations of SLT accepted the awards on behalf of the company at this awards ceremony. The BCC Sustainability Awards was conducted by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce for the eleventh consecutive year. This award evaluated the performance of organizations during the last financial year in terms of corporate sustainability in Sri Lanka on the triple bottom line – people, planet and profit – with a view to encouraging organizations to adopt the best practices in terms of the creation of goods/ services as well as in processes and systems, whilst ensuring the well-being of all company stakeholders in the course of carrying out business operations.
